Tech Steve measured approximately 3,000 nits of peak brightness on the television used in the video, although he noted that the result changes with content and brightness settings. That level of output can give bright effects such as sunlight, fire and explosions strong impact while preserving visible highlight detail. The television supports Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10, HDR10+ Adaptive, HLG and Advanced HDR by Technicolor. Hisense advertises up to 5,000 nits at the series level, rather than providing separate size-specific SDR and HDR figures.
Gaming performance
The U8QG supports 4K at up to its verified native 165Hz refresh rate, along with VRR, ALLM, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, Dolby Vision Gaming and HDR10+ Gaming. The 55- through 85-inch models are the most furniture-friendly because of their compact height-adjustable central pedestals; the 100-inch model is for buyers with enough installation space for its 68.3-inch two-leg footprint.
