The integrated hub supports Zigbee and Matter devices and can operate as a Thread border router. Bluetooth 5.3 allows direct playback from a phone, while eero Built-in can extend a compatible eero network under Amazon's stated device and speed limits. The tradeoffs are a relatively high launch price, dependence on compatible Fire TV hardware for wireless television audio and no HDMI, optical or analog input. Buy it for an Alexa-centered music and smart-home system; keep an existing Echo if its sound already meets your needs, or choose a conventional soundbar or wired speaker when broad television and source compatibility matters more.
